- You can expect your initial eyelash extension procedure to be take between 1-2 hours, depending on the job requested.
- Prior to the installation/application of your desired look, your EyeLash Stop artist/technician will provide you with a personal consultation, ensuring your design details and final look are just what you want!
- You and your EyeLash Stop artist/technician will design a tailored look to compliment your natural beauty and your lifestyle.
- The application of semi-permanent eyelash extensions is painless, exceptionally tranquil, and revitalizing. Most clients typically fall asleep during the process and then are delighted when they awaken to longer, thicker, darker and more voluminous lashes.
- Your EyeLash Stop artist/technician will place soothing anti-wrinkle gel pads under your eyes and gently tape your lower lashes to protect them and keep them separated from your upper lashes. Now you close your eyes and relax for the remainder of the service.
- Your EyeLash Stop artist/technician will lightly dip each synthetic lash in a medical-grade strong hold adhesive and isolate each individual natural lash of yours.
- She/he will expertly adhere one eyelash extension to one of your natural lashes (this method fashions a natural/seamless look and leaves you feeling as if the eyelash extensions are your very own! — To ensure your safety during and after the procedure, eyelash extensions are never applied to your skin (eyelash extensions are only attached to your natural lashes).
- Sealer is then applied that forms a reliable barrier to protect against the natural elements that break down the adhesive, and leaves your lashes with a complimentary glossy coat.
- Finally, your EyeLash Stop artist/technician will dry your eyelashes and are ready to view your new lashes!
Remember to keep your lash extensions dry for at least 24 hours after application!
Touch ups are recommended every 2-4 weeks to maintain your Eyelashes effectively, just as you would get a manicure before the polish chips off ensuring that they always look magnificent.
- Touch ups/Fills take approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour.
- During this process, your EyeLast Stop artist/technician will remove any lashes that have grown out, become loose, or are damaged. She/he will then replace those eyelashes as well as add to your new lashes that have grown in since your last visit.
Important: The most common cause of eyelash extensions falling out before the end of your natural lash cycle includes:
- Excessive eyelash touching/ fidgeting
- The use of oil-based products
- Applying on excessive amounts of mascara (which requires excessive cleansing)
- Frequent exposure to heat sources such as spas, saunas, and tanning salons
Keep Your Eyelashes CLEAN & Groomed!
- Be sure to arrive with no makeup or lotions anywhere around the eye area.
- No mascara, no eyeliner, not even foundation around the eyes. The area surrounding and on the eyes must be completely clean. If your artist/technician is required to spend more time removing cosmetics, they may need to charge you for the removal/clean up, and be prepared to spend less time applying lashes during your appointment.
- Groom your lashes as needed with a clean mascara wand (preferably when wet).
Skip the Coffee if possible!
- If caffeine makes your jittery, it can also make your eyes twitch. This makes the intricate application of eyelash extensions more difficult and thus more time consuming for your Lash Artist.
- It’s highly recommended to cut out the caffeine.
Tinting and/or Perming!
- If you plan on lash tinting or lash perming this should be done 48 hrs prior to your eyelash extensions appointment (Important note: tinting or perming is not necessary since the extensions cover the natural lash and are curved to replicate curled lashes)
Facial Tans and/or Airbrushing
- Facials should be done before a lash extension application instead of after. Airbrush tanning should be doneat least 24 hrs prior to your lash extension appointment.
Your experience and satisfaction is very important to us, and following these important after-care instructions will aid in extending the life of your lash extensions!
- Avoid getting your eyelashes wet for at least 12-24 hours after they are applied to allow medical glue to dry and set.
- Avoid facials hot steam rooms, saunas, swimming and tanning salons for first 48 hours.
- Keep sauna, steam rooms and tanning visits to a minimum.
- Avoid using cotton balls or things that create lint on the lashes.
- Avoid using oil based make-up removers or products on lashes or around eye area.
- Use powdered, liquid or gel eyeliner. Pencils (unless specially formulated for Eyelash Extensions) tend to leave an oily residue that can run into the extensions and loosen the bond.
- Avoid using an eyelash curler. This may cause the extension and your natural lash to fall out prematurely. Besides that, you are going to have fabulous lashes and won’t need to curl them.
- Refrain from rubbing your eyes or lashes when washing your face, gently cleanse around the eye region with a wash cloth, fingers or oil-free make-up remover cloths.
- Do not pull on your lash extensions, it may cause your natural lash to fall out.
- If you must use mascara, use only water-based on the tips of the lashes.
- Avoid heat from blow dryers on your lash extensions for the eyelash tips will melt.
- When opening a hot oven, turn your face to the side. The heat will melt the tips of your lashes.
- If you choose to get injectables, you cannot lay down for over 4 hours afterwards so do not book a fill on the same day.
- When using eye drops (over the counter or medicated) make sure to rinse your eye with clean water. This prevents your lashes from clumping together and getting crusty from the saline.
The average adult typically has 100-250 eyelashes in their upper lid and 35-70 eyelashes in their lower lid. Your lashes not only frame the eye aesthetically, but rather filter out foreign objects and protect your eyes. All hair follows a three phase growth cycle (listed below: Anagen, Catagen & Telogen) which lasts from eight to twelve weeks.
1. The Anagen Phase:
The Anagen phase is the Growth phase, when lashes are actively growing and lasts from 30-45 days. Only about 40% of upper and 15% of lower lashes are in the Anagen phase at any time. Each lash will grow to a specific length then stop.
2. The Catagen Phase:
The Catagen phase is the transition between the growth and resting of the hair follicle. During this time, the lash stops growing and the follicle begins to shrink. If an eyelash falls out, or is plucked out during this phase, regrowth can be delayed. The follicle needs to complete the Catagen phase before the next can begin.
3. The Telogen Phase:
The Telogen phase is the Resting phase. In this cycle of growth, the lash is retained in the hair follicle as a dead or “club” hair until falling out. Because each individual la
